Attempting to wire up a brake lite switch for 71 Javelin.
Under dash switch has red ( power) wire and green wire connected to it.
No green wire at rear??
Anyone have any idea how this switch is wired?
Also, any ideas as to where I can locate a wiring diagram for this vehicle as I have major rewiring work to do.
Thanks,

I believe that the green wire goes to a **** connector which then proceeds to the rear of the car. The red wire should go to the fuse box. I have found that the wiring diagrams are in the 71 Service manuals from AMC or there are some websites out there that are pretty reliable for the AMC's. I have a 71 and never really had to mess around with the wiring that much. I have had the car since it was 9 years old and have pretty much kept it as original as possible as far as the majority of the wiring is concerned.

You may find a 71 service manual on Ebay... i always have one for the year I own. You can get them for about $25.00. Depending on where you live... Public libraries may have it on CD or in the auto manuals location, for a quick 3 page xerox.
