Hello,
I own a '77 AMX Hornet with 44,365 original miles on it. It had been sitting in a garage, unused for quite some time before I got it up and running.
The car hesitates on acceleration, and sometimes stalls in extreme cases. It seems to perform better (less hesitation) when I let it warm up for longer periods of time (i.e., 3-5 minutes), but then it still hesitates when accelerating from a longer stop (i.e., a red light).
I'm not a mechanic by trade, so I'm hesitant to just take it in anywhere without having a good idea of what might be causing the hesitation.
If you have any ideas or solutions, I would be most grateful.
Thanks,
Brandon
