Battery not charging
I have a 69 Javelin with a 360 motor. Just replace the alternator with a 55 amp replacement (I've taken this back and had it re tested and passed), new voltage regulator and battery with 800 cca. I am getting 12V from the ignition wire telling the alternator to charge the battery. The alternator off the large stud/positive only reads 12.6V and the battery is the same. I had it working briefly over the weekend and registering 14.2V at alternator and battery, unfortunately I can't put my finger on what caused the system to start working so I can't track why it stoped again. Any help is appreciated.

If the alt. checked out then it sounds like you've got a loose, corroded wire or bad ground. If you haven't already check the battery terminals & engine ground. The cables can corrode under the insulation so check under that too. Otherwise the regulator sounds like it may be bad, though I'd lean toward a wiring issue with the on again off again result you got.
