Hi, my name is Ron and I own a 1970 AMX that I inherited from my dad. It is a 360 auto trans car with 56000 original miles. The paint was done in the 80's as I believe a tribute to the TEAM AMX, ( Technical Employee's of American Motors ) They were a group of guys at the Michigan Hdqts in Detroit that wanted to race SCCA like the Javelins. So the paint is old and I don't want to touch it until I have no choice. I had the original 360 rebuilt and bored 30 over with 10.75:1 compression pistons and a .624 lift cam. Rebuilt the cast iron heads. At some point my dad swapped in a 700R4 GM overdrive trans into the car. I also had the trans rebuilt to handle the new motor, havn't had it dynoed but this 69 yr old got the AMX thru the 1/4 mile in 12.575 sec at 113 mph last October. I have never been on a drag strip before.
