Headlight Help Needed

I'm looking for some help because my low beams do not work. The hight beams do work though. I have replaced th bulbs, so that is not the problem. I have tested for power at the switch in the dash and there is power coming through the red and blue wires at the top of the plug, but no power registers on the pink and brown wires at the bottom of the plug. I have also replaced the foot switch and tested for power coming through those wires, which there was. I believe that the lights are also blowing the 14 amp fuse on the fuse panel. If the problem is the main switch, how do I get it out of the dash panel? I can't get the knob off the top and cant get the pin out where the arm attaches to the body of the switch.

On a related note, I assume that the fact that the temp guage and dash lights don't work are separate issues from the headlights?
