1968 - 1970 AMX

1971 - 1974 Javelin AMX
Despite Dick Teague's best efforts to continue the two-seater AMX as a separate model into 1971, the corporate heads discontinued the two seat concept. The AMX name would live on however.
Beginning with the 1971 model year, the AMX would become a sport package option on its bigger brother, the Javelin. Go >
1977 Hornet AMX
1974 witnessed the final dying gasps of the once-mighty-muscle car (and the last of the 401 in the AMC passenger car line). Even the sporty AMX option would not be offered in 1975 or 1976.
In 1977 American Motors would bring the fun back to driving with the Hornet AMX. Stating in their brochure "The AMX comes on strong with a floor shift, console, sporty gauges, soft-feel sports steering wheel and more." Go >
1978 Concord AMX
1978 was the year for the Concord AMX. "Excitement is the word for the new AMX. From the sweep of the front fender to the flair of the rear deck, AMX's bold design transforms everyday driving into an exciting experience.", reads the 1978 sales brochure. Go >
1979 - 1980 Spirit AMX
For 1979 and 1980 the Spirit would be the platform for the AMX package. "The styling says sizzle. The performance is nothing short of inspiring. Meet AMX for 1979. Inside and out it's bold, commanding. Expect to be noticed." 1980 would be the last year for AMX. Go >

Mark Donohue TributeHe won, during an all too brief career, 57 major events in a variety of cars and competitions. He drove - successfully - Camaros, Javelins, Matadors, Lolas McLarens, Porches. Invariably, he drove them not only quicker than they had been running, but with a degree of skill that kept them competitive at the finish as well as at the start.* In 55 Trans-Am races Mark Donohue had 29 wins with 43 top-three finishes.
