This is my all original 1969 290 auto AMX. I bought it a few years ago from the original owner, it still has the space saver spare in the trunk, and the original unused bottle. It has the original paint, and the motor has about 99k on it. It is a real fun car to drive, and is a real head turner in New York City.

Jonas sends this picture of his 1968 390 4-speed Go-Pak AMX. Jonas and his AMX can be seen driving the streets in Belgium.

Hi my name is John Owens. I own a 1970 AMX 390 4-speed / with Go-Pack. I picked it up April of '99 from the original owner with only 60,000 on it, he was a race tech for AMC in the late 60,s & 70s . Engine has been restored she's a fine driver and getting better every day. roadshow@kconline.com
This car is my 5th AMX over the last 25 years. It's Big Bad Green, 390, 4-speed, Go-Pak with charcoal grey leather and Rally Pak. The car has 26,000 original miles on it. It has all the original emissions equipment still on the engine. I've installed magnum 500 wheels (15x7), radial tires and gas shocks to update the ride.

Cool web site!! I am a true AMC-ER, my first car was a 1967 Ambassador 880 290 and my dream car was an AMX. Well now I have one (20 years later) 1969 AMX. It's an asphalt eating machine powered by an unrestored 390 hooked to a 5 speed transmission, it was originally an automatic car but a manual transmission gives you a better feel of power. I have kept the automatic transmission console because I enjoy the way it looks. You can do that with a modern transmission because the shifter is centered. I enjoy the overdrive 5th speed as the engine revs 3000 rpm @ 100 mph. I will never part from this car and I will use it a lot every summer.
Keep ramblin...

Richard Craney sends this picture of his father's 1969 AMX in Frost White with red stripes. Click on the page curl to check out the AMX with some great Metropolitans.
I've owned my 1969 AMX over 20 years. It has the 343, 4 speed, Go-pak, tilt, power steering and 83,000 original miles. During that same time, I've owned 4 Gremlins, a Hornet Wagon, and 2 Matador Coupes. One tends to get lots of 'thumbs up' driving around Central Florida. Keep up the great work....

I love your web site. I imagine I'll use the links more as I get into restoring this car. It's a 1970 AMX, Golden Lime, 360 4-speed, Hurst shifter, AM/FM Radio, black interior, 75K miles. It has been painted once, otherwise all original. It needs a few things, but overall it's solid. I have wanted an AMX forever, my first Matchbox was a green AMX, my first model car was a Jo-Han Javelin snap together, etc. I finally ran up on a car when I had the bucks to spare last fall. I plan on coming to AMC events this summer, and maybe next fall going for a full restoration (I have a 1968 Buick GS400 I'm doing a frame off right now, so it'll be a while). I'd love to hear from other AMX'ers, feel free to send links to parts, photos, etc., my web page is at http://www.internettrash.com/users/mikeyc . Appreciate your efforts on the web and in keeping AMC alive, Michael Cooke, Hickory, NC.
In 1999 the ACD tour came to Warsaw. The owners came to Biomet Inc where I work with over 25 classic autos. By dumb luck I drove my AMX to work that day, found a camera and got some shots. The owners welcomed me and my AMX to their wonderful world. It was great and probably the last time they will tour.
Thanks,
John
